Francis Ford Coppola Winery in Geyserville, CA is a unique destination that offers a blend of wine, food, and adventure. Nestled in the heart of Sonoma County, the winery features a state-of-the-art winemaking facility, producing over 40 award-winning wines, including the popular Diamond Collection and sparkling Sofia wines. Visitors can indulge in a variety of tasting experiences, culinary delights, and explore the rich history of the Coppola family's filmmaking legacy through a vast collection of movie memorabilia. The property boasts two swimming pools totaling 3,600 square feet, surrounded by chaise lounges and private cabines, providing a perfect spot for relaxation on warm Alexander Valley days. Additionally, guests can enjoy a game of bocce on the regulation-sized courts or browse the international treasures at the gift shop.
Enjoy the beauty of Sonoma County's sprawling wine region, rolling hills and views of nearby mountain ranges. We are offering three route distances for 2024 to suit riders with different preferences. Each of them features aid stations along the way so that you don't have to worry about carrying more than a water bottle, tube, pump, multi-tool, and a snack or two.
Those of you doing the long course will be treated to a ride that takes you through four of Sonoma County's nineteen wine growing regions: Alexander Valley, Chalk Hill, Russian River Valley, and Dry Creek Valley. Each of these regions features vantage points of Sonoma County's varied terrain that are as distinctly different as the varietals of grapes grown within them.
You will be treated to a wonderful, moderately long course with lots of rolling hills. There are two signature climbs and fun descents: Chalk Hill, and Dutcher Creek. They are favorites to those of us who are lucky enough to call Sonoma County home.
Experienced cyclists are expected to complete this course in under five hours while slower riders could take as many as eight.
Our medium course features the same, varied terrain as the long course, and one signature climb: Dutcher Creek. It eliminates almost 30 miles of distance from the long course, and features just over half of the elevation gain. It is very beautiful and the perfect intermediate ride for anyone who is comfortable spending three to four and a half hours on the bike at a moderate or casual pace.
Want an easy day on the bike, and beautiful views of Sonoma County? This might be the route for you. Featuring a small amount of climbing over fourteen and a half miles, the Arctic Fox route is perfect for a casual pre-lunch ride with a civilized 10:30am start time.
